Latest Media Artwork and much more at Moscow Biennale. If you’re in Moscow, Russia or heading there, make sure you check out the 4th Moscow Biennale of modern Artwork which opened yesterday, September 22, and runs through October 30. Called “Rewriting Worlds,” this year’s show features artworks by 64 artists and 16 art groups from 33 different countries like Chile, China, Japan, Austria, Indonesia and america. Hailed as Russia’s most prestigious contemporary art event, the Biennale features artwork from both up-and-coming artists in addition to well-versed ones like Olafur Eliasson, Richard Hamilton and Gerhard Richter. This year’s event is focused on new media in art. Be ready to see traditional art, such as works of art and sculptures, and also computer-assisted media installations and sound art.
Peter Weibel, who heads the middle for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, Germany, is curating the big event and said inside a statement that “the history of art should adhere to the artist, and artists around the world are in work with new media today.”
